M.STACKS is "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE"

Summer has finallypacked up it's bags...and decided to vacay til next year. I can't say that I'm to bummed out aboutSummer leaving, it was awesome...warm weather, trips to the Ohio City Ice Cream shop, Downtown Cleveland packed with er bawdy n they mama, Ohio Hip Hop Awards,and let's not forget the music! All of the dope a*s music that was released this Summer. Just when I thought I might be suffering from "mixtape release overload", just when my Mac Book whispered "Jenn...I can't take much more right now"...I came across a gem of a mixtape "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE"! Presented by Braniac Society, and IMKING, CLEVELAND's very own M.STACKS "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE" is an amazing mix of jazz beats, symphony horns,drums, some super galactic space beats, and an original style that would be impossible to duplicate. M.STACKS doesn't really need much of an introduction. I mean if your a music head...you've probably heard some of your favorite songs, by some of your favorite artists...produced by M.STACKS himself. M.STACKS isn't just a "Dj". I mean this guys credits run longer than credits at the end of a Jim Henson movie!(*Since you insist...and it's a must...he's gotta a musical rolodex that includes Bun B, King Chip, Wiz Khalifa,Mac Miller, Naledge,Curren$y..and hella more) M.STACKS breaks free of the typical "Dj Stereotype". He effortlessly takes on a leadership role of Producer, MC, Dj, and Promoter!

I wasn't sure what to expect from "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE". I mean after awhile mixtapes kinda run together....same songs, different intros. "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE" cleverly shows off  M.STACKS multiple talents, using hismusical ear, and creative genius to provide us with anabundance of smooth, chill music, and some of musics most underrated, at the top of their game artists on"CONNECTED EVERYWHERE". M.STACKS easily pulls off a mixtape that is entertaining, and legit the whole way thru. It's always satisfying to find Naledge ft "King Chip" together."Stop Trickin" with B.Smooth can mos def be added to their list of delicious bangers. M.STACKS clearly shows his love for his city of CLEVELAND, with MGK and "Back it Up", on "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE" love is plenty. Tuki Carter adds character and color on the mixtape, and Jameisha throws in a bit of Sexy., and Lil Flip...evens makes you smile, and remember that he's still pushing hits...making "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE" a must have download! Summer may be gone, but...M.STACKS made sure we are "CONNECTED EVERYWHERE"! XOXO

DOPEST FREESTYLE, Ya'll Cant Keep Up!!!

Okkkkkk Sooooooo my first adventure to "Get It Poppin Radio/Black Kush Radio"....was...veryINSANE!!!! I mean it takes a lot to get me frantic, or even at a lost for words...I mean come on ...*ya'll know I'm the QUEEN of the run on sentences...*oopsy. I took a deep breath before I cracked the door to GIPBKR, remembering my last fiasco with Dj Ball, I had pre-warned myself to be guarded , knowing at any moment...anything could happen. Yet when I walked in...Young Shon was standing erect, he was looking alert, and surprisingly...very authoritative. The last time I had really had a chance to interact with Young Shon was at the Ohio Hip Hop Awards, where he attempted to creep into the showcase...obviously fried to the side...*his give away was...a crumbled pop-tart, that he ate carefully...in between giggles. So to seeYoung Shon, ready for what was to come, preparing lists, and calling shots...was...intriguing. I came in and Young Shon's face read nothing but seriousness. His straight face lasted only seconds before he politely smiled, and literally opened his arms. I walked over to the where Young Shon was posted...right in front of the studio mic...and he gave me a ((huge hug)). The 1st thing I noticed...was that Young Shon thanked me. He thanked me before we had even gotten started...for the interview. Young Shon is probably one of the most polite, and courteous artist out here. I felt comfortable, and relaxed within minutes upon officially meeting him.

As the GIPBKR show started...the vibe in the studio picked up quickly. While Young Shon, and the beautiful Zima Luv aka Mz. Hipztook calls, and pushed music thru the lines...artists came strolling in. I mean it was 1 after another! The door toGIPBKR must have opened over 50 times. I felt like I had the best seat in the house, sitting on the soft leather sofa.Usually a person would become annoyed...like "yoooo quit opening the f*cking door"....but GIPBKRis a place where...artists feel like they are at home.Not to mention GIPBKR has over 20,ooo listeners!!!!!!

I found myself watching the door....literally filled with excitement to see just who might be coming thru the door at any moment. As the door swung open...I realized...Young Shon...to be young, and amazingly "kind"....he was like the "pied piper or musical talent". I sat it disbelief as the legendary Dj Johnny O came thru, Big Heff cracked the door, bringing his whole Industry Tour Roster with him.Bella Nae blessed the GIPBKR with her always fantastic self. Dj Chicago himself was in the session, Dj Ball, Cash, DANK, Dj Nomadic later came thru, let's not forget Chronic...Spitt Magazine was on the line...I mean..it was basically an overload of generations of music...all in 1 place! What was even more amazing...was that Young Shon had orchestrated the whole movement. To have more than 20 people all in a studio, all exchanging music, posters, event info, feedback, future projects...Dj Jhonny O himself was there...extending heavy educational advice on music, the industry and everything beyond, Jessica aka Kickagirl was there who herself is 1 of the most hardworking  managers in the city . I mean...it was like a buffet of knowledge, and most of all it was the energy....the ENERGY Young Shon put out...was contagious to everyone else surrounding him. Young Shon's energy is like none other!!! He made people feel comfortable being interviewed on his show. He waspatient, and he made sure that everyone felt appreciated and cleared a way for those that were in the studio that day...to have a platform to share their music, or even honest thoughts about the music industry.I had heard Young Shon's music before... and I was IMPRESSED, dude has infinite metaphors, and can knock you down before you get up with his lyrics...and after actually meeting Young Shon...I respect his music even more. "Real Recognize Real"*Young Shon voice....and Young Shon is 1 of the realist....let me introduce you...to a man...with class, in a class of his own....Young Shon!!! XOX

BONE THUGS N HARMONY 2012 CLEVELAND!!!!

Sooooooooo I like to think that I have lived a somewhat...fulfilling, adventurous, andexciting life. I mean as I get older...of course there are things that I hope I see before exiting this Earth. I mean we all have a small list of people, things, andplaces that we would all like to see 1 day...a list that seems almost "far fetched", or "impossible". You know...the list you talk about to a friend and they usually respond...."yeah...that'll happen...when pigs fly".I have a few things on my list...ya know, unicorns, aliens, a 3 titty chic, and BONE THUGS N HARMONY reuniting! I've discussed my list with friends before and Ive gotten the same reaction..."Jenn..come on now...I seriously doubt any of these things will actually happen...especially a concert with all the original members of Bone Thugs n Harmony". I like to keep high hopes. So imagine how I felt...when I was told...I would be covering the BONE THUGS n CONCERT REUNION at the AGORA!!!!!!!!

When I first busted thru the back door at the AGORA....I kinda crept in...and somewhat crawled thru the many mazes finally ending up at the side of the stage. There weren't very many people inside. Rebel Army Radio was setting up, Quincy aka Big Heff was quietly moving up and down the empty aisles running soundcheck. KPT and Draft Pick were there, early like always on their professional sh*t, and then you had maybe those 1 or 2 ticket holders...ya know the ticket holders that are early at every show. Dj Ball was setting up his tables,while I slowly scanned the venue looking all the way to the top thinking...*damn....Juicy J tore this place down last time he was here.* The AGORA is a beautiful venue. It has seats up top in the balcony and small lil box seats that are almost opera house looking. I took a deep breath in, the air inside smelled stale and very cold.Out front security was having a lil pep talk from some other authorative figure. I overheard security being told..."I'm not sure why we have so much security"...I was thinking..."awwwww the silly folk, they have no idea that freakin BONE THUGS N HARMONY are world famous, grammy award winning artists"*headroll fingasnap. It wasn't long before the AGORA began to fill up. The die hard BONE fans rushed towards the front of the stage....sure it was nowhere near time for t he show but I mean come on!!!!! This was BONE THUGS N HARMONYperforming for there first time since fo-eva!!! As the AGORA began to fill...slow at first like a Big Slurp in a cup from Seven Eleven...there were hella opening acts that performed. I mean I think that all of Cleveland was trying to be a part of the monumental BONE concert. The crowd was mos def growing anxious by the minute. I admit...that I myself was somewhat impatient, but unlike many other concert goers at the AGORA, I didn't fall victim to the tall cans of COOR's Light being served. Taking a crowd of die hard BONE fans, that haven't been just waiting a few hours to see BONE perform....but have also been passing the time by sipping tall cans of beer, being pushed, squished and told that BONE would be performing shortly could have easily turned into arecipe for disaster. Yet Quincy aka Big Heff somehow seemed to keep the crowd entertained, and patient as possible....which seemed...almost impossible. Of course Cleveland's most famous and elite came out to support this historical event about to go down. Ray Jr. did the fattest set showing hella love to Eazy E. Ray Cash who is Mr.Cleveland himself came out and performed!!! DJ BALL literally had me surprised.

I mean I've heard DJ BALL spin before but damn.....he held it down for like 4 hours straight no lie. The stage area quickly began to fill up. It seemed as if everyone wanted to be front and center at what was about to happen. You could tell from the expressions on everyone's face...that everyone was a BONE THUGS N HARMONY FAN. People sometimes try and be cool at concerts. That's why usually even tho I'm media, I like to be in the crowd. The stage can get to crowded, at you've got people just standing around, groupies, people tryna push music, managers... just way to many things going on. This concert was different tho. It seemed as if everyone was just wanting to be a piece of history. Everyone there that day at the AGORA knew that this BONE THUGS N HARMONY show was going to be EPIC. The world famous Dj ICE was starting to pump out the intro music for BONE.After what seemed like an eternity...flying cans, beer being thrown, boo'sand loud forceful chants of "WE WAN BONE, WE WANT BONE"...the crowd began to part on stage...almost like the Red Sea..and then...there...right before my face...was 1 of the things I had dreamed of seeing once in my life before I died...BONE THUGS N HARMONY came strolling out, and I say strolling...cuz BONE THUGS N HARMONY always come thru cool and smooth!!!

OMG!!!!!!!! It was soooooooo freakin COOL!!!!!!!! I mean BONE THUGS N HARMONY looked like they had just emerged from some kinda time capsule. They look EXACTLY the same! From the sharp creases in their pants, to their button upsand ironed t's and jerseys, BONE THUGS N HARMONY came onto theAGORA stage and theapplause was INSANE!!!BONE THUGS N HARMONY were standing on stage...in their city that loved them soooo much...CLEVELAND. The looks on Wish, Krayzie, Flesh, Bizzy, and Layzie were priceless. You could see happiness and love in their eyes. All the smiles in the whole venue were genuine. Everyone that had been on stage was being told to "STEP BACK, STEP BACK". I couldn't be that annoyed by the people that refused to listen, because it was such a magical moment....everone just wanted to be a part of it. BONE THUGS N HARMONY jumped right into their set. I mean hit after hit, the music was non-stop. The crowd was young, old, male, female.....and every single person in attendance new every single word to every single Bone song being played. I looked to the top of the AGORA...the seats were totally filled, people were sweating, shouting all the words to the songs. The air inside no longer smelled stale, nor was it cold. The comforting aroma of burning tree, and body warmth filled the AGORA. Everyone that had seemed impatient before, and angry...suddenly seemed happy, all the faces were wearing smiles,some people had deep lost looks in their eyes...reciting lyrics out of hope, or maybe even hurt they felt...thats what BONE THUGS N HARMONY music does to your soul. It's never been about "gangsta rap"...BONE THUGS N HARMONY has always been about "real life struggles,  ghetto hope, and unity amongst your community"....and tha's what happened that night at the AGORA. BONE THUGS N HARMONY...made history...all over again. Even tho we as fans seemed to have  waited forever for the return of 1 of the greatest hip hop groups of all time... It was worth it! You could tell...that moment...was the moment for BONE THUGS N HARMONY. It wasn't about them coming together cuz their bills needed to paid, or jus kinda throwing some half ass show together for the sake of doing it. This Bone Thugs reunion was written. It was one of those things that was meant to happen when it did. There was no animosity amongst all the members, 1 member wasn't trying to outshine any of the others. They all seemed genuinely happy to be together on stage in CEVELAND.

I caught Bizzy smiling non-stop, he was generous with the stage, often times falling back or stepping to the side....kinda making way for Flesh to make his presence known, I caught Layzie almost skipping from side to side, Krayzie looked so confident in everything happening around him, and Flesh....man...it had been so long I had almost forgotten how dope Flesh really is...but he mos def reminded the crowd that he is still 1 of the dopest artist ever, and Wish was sooooo freakin smooth in his V-neck and button up, still the glue holding it all together with his soulful singing...I mean...I swear I saw tears in some of the biggest gangsters eyes at AGORA that night. Not on some sucka sh*t, but if you are a lover of hip hop, if you have followed the intro, the fame, and the struggles of BONE THUGS N HARMONY, and you respect them and what they are about...it'd be difficult not to feel some kinda way...seeing them perform all together for their fans!

The show seemed to go on forever, and yet there still didn't seem like enough time.BONE THUGS N HARMONYproved that they will always stand against the test of time. When you are an originator of something, you can never fall off. BONE THUGS N HARMONY will always be 1 of the Greatest Hip Hop groups of all time!
Driving home I felt satisfied with life, and looked out my window for flying pigs...I was that happy, not because I was at AGORA, but just because BONE THUGS N HARMONY proved...that if you have something good, it will always withstand the test of time. We all deal with everyday struggles, we all have family or friends we love but don't talk to all the time, but in the end...when the time is right...if it's meant to be...it will be...and BONE THUGS N HARMONY is 1 of those things in life....that proves all of the above to be correct. When I got home, I took out my list, and gently crossed off "BONE THUGS N HARMONY".I had seen the reunion of my favorite hip hop group ever, I fell asleep feeling satisfied and hopeful for everything else that may come in life. XOXO

Let's face it...Up until recently...over the past few years CLEVELANDwasn't thought of as a  musical city. I mean of course we pump out some of the greatest artists in the music industry, but honestly...if an A&R was sitting at a desk with an artist...they probably wouldn't stick a lil push pin into CLEVELAND on a map and say "NOW CLEVELAND...that's where you need to be if your trying to push your music, build a fan base, or build a brand". I mean do you know how many times I've gone to other cities and said "BITCH I'M FROM CLEVELAND"...and heard crickets...*crickets*. Soooooo many things have changed...and I'm not just talking about the Cleveland Browns....oh wait...no...your right the Browns are still the same * yawn. Yet as far as music goes...CLEVELAND has managed to do a complete 360 on er damn body!!!

Not only is CLEVELAND recognized as an influential, key component to the music industry, the nightlife is in full force, almost as if your partying in New York, or even L.A. More and more celebrities are stumbling thru CLEVELAND, and yes I use the word "stumbling" because once they are shown the city by CLEVELAND's GODFATHER himself...they will have TURNT THA F*CK UP, and left successful, happy, and productive.

There are a lot of people that would love to take credit for CLEVELAND'snew found respect in the music industry...and why wouldn't they. I mean to be able to say that you turned the cityof CLEVELAND into 1 of the most respected cities to birth several phenomenal talents... is mos def a big notch to add to ya belt. If you are really from CLEVELAND, then you know...that no matter what anyone say's.....the title of CLEVELAND's MUSICAL GODFATHER mos def goes to Quincy aka BIG HEFF!!!!! 

 I mean damn....I could spend all night in this starbucks...(wifi...duhhhhhhh) listing all of BIG HEFF's accomplishments....but damn...that would take all day...*and the BET Awards are coming on....but yes...BIG HEFF himself has taken CLEVELAND and kinda picked it up, brushed it off, polished it up, and pushed it back out into the market. Any artist from CLEVELAND...will mos def have to to go thru, come to, or need BIG HEFF at least once in their musical careers. There's no "If's", "ands", or "buts" about it. BIG HEFF is the Godfather of Musical talent in CLEVELAND. Ok ok.....some people may say...*"now hold up Jenn...maybe your going a lil to far with this Godfather sh*t". That's ok...because

I understand that for every person that loves what you do, there is another person that hates what you do...only because they themselves can't do it the way that you do. BIG HEFF is like the male version of a Fairy Godmother. He can take apumpkin and turn it into a coach, he can take an artist that not 1 person has really heard of, and magically turn them into a headliner at any venue. BIG HEFF can take a song ...and turn it into a hit. BIG HEFF can manage to take the most burnt down club in the city, a club that is on the brinks of closing, and suddenly have A1 artists performing on a stage at the venue. BIG HEFF seems to have magical powers of a GODFATHER. No matter what anyone says about this man ....there is no denying his exquisite business savvy professionalism , or his musical ear or eye for talent. BIG HEFF has literally turned CLEVELAND all the way around!!!!

I've witnessed myself the kinda pull that this 1 man alone has when it comes to accomplishing the impossible.

BIG HEFF I found out over the years is a complicated individual, almost at times difficult to read...but you have to act a certain way according to certain situations and certain individuals. You gotta think for a min...BIG HEFF has hella things going on for him, around him and this city. There has been times when I've seen QUINCY out and it'd  be a huge group of artists...all standing in his face, pushing music, some yelling, some attempting to network, some damn near begging....jus for him to work with them. QUINCY is the man ...the GODFATHER that just might be able to make it happen for them. I've witnessed BIG HEFF at dinner...and people kinda walking up to him, and he is polite ...he listens...with the most straight face Ive ever seen.I mean his face doesn't budge...so you automatically know that he is all about business. Yet I can't help but feel a lil sympathy for QUINCY...cuz I know that I like to eat my food while its still hot. QUINCY has spent the last few years attempting to rebuild CLEVELAND. He is successfully pulling off the task that most forecasted as "impossible". With the Nerve Dj's conferences, the Ohio Hip Hop Awards, and hella concerts thrown to push MGK, RAY JR., RAY CASH, KING CHIP, BELLA NAE, DRAFT P1CK and KPT...and soooooo many more artists...you would almost be lying to yourself...if you denied this man the credit that he deserves.

I'm not being biased when I speak of QUINCY aka BIG HEFF. He has mos def gotten me locked in CLUB EARTH til 5am, or even had me get drinks spilled on me at 1 of his sold-out shows, or even had me leave with all 100 of my business cards passed out at a Nerve Dj's event, just from networking alone....and guess what...IT WAS FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! QUINCY mos def has the integrity and work drive of a million men...yet you don't ever see him with a whole posse of people...unless its an artist that he's promoting, or celebrities he's rubbing elbows with in the city. A man that has done soooo much for soooo many people is bound to have people that despise his success or work ethic. Sure there are rumors of tarnished morals, or maybe even lack of integrity....but does everyone like DIDDY, does JIGGA piss some people off....some artists feel certain ways....but I like to go by the success rate...andBIG HEFF's success rate is very......successful...and let's just say...I'm almost positive, I'd bet my pink toes...that there are some artists out here that may complain or badmouth theGODFATHER BIG HEFF...yet I'm pretty sure they would walk far as hell...just to get this man...a piece of cheesecake. QUINCY is a very private person...sure he will walk 50 ppl into VIP and TURN UP all night...but I wanted to get a chance to hear from the horses mouth...exactly who he is, and exactly what he does....let me introduce you to QUINCY aka BIG HEFF!!!

Q. What exactly is your job title?

A. Urban Marketing Consultant. I work with major record labels, co-founder of the Ohio Hip Hop Awards, Starmedia Booking, have done marketing for T-mobile, Chevy, Madden E/A Sports. NBA2K, and I'm a brand ambassador.

 

Q. Do you seek out talent, or does talent usually come to you?

A. Both...if an artist has a good background story that get's me interested I'm in, maybe certain creative situations, or sometimes an artis may already have a fan base that get's me excited about that artists music. Referrals from other people, or even good music...good music always get's me interested.

 

Q. What 3 changes have you noticed in the CLEVELAND music scene in the last 5 years?

A. Knowledge of the industry,  structure, and opportunity.

 

Q. How did the Ohio Hip Hop Awards get started?

A. Well it was me, D. Lorand, Garbs, and Majestic...I had just came back from Miami and we thought we needed an event to show appreciation for artists....a ceremony to enhance, enlighten, and show recognition to various artists. We all cam from some kind of industry background...we have great chemistry....

 

Q. How old were you when you 1st got started in music?

A. HAHAHAHAH maybe 22...I was in a rap group called Second Generation...we sold like 7.000 copies of or cd lol....

 

Q. What is the biggest mistake managers make when pushing an artist?

A. Sometimes the manager...wants to be bigger than the artist...that doomed for disaster. Managers sometimes don't share enough knowledge with their artist, no trust, no honesty., no feedback, not enough input, and a lot of times managers take on to much responsibility or work load of their artist. It' all about teamwork.

 

Q. What do you look for in talent?

A. Star quality, great look, great voice, story, connection with fans, demographic....

 

Q. How much money do you think it's take to put together a decent budget for a good quality mixtape, promo and production?

A. Usually between $2500- $5000

 

Q. Is it hard not to play favoritism to certain artist?

A. Nope...not at all...it all depends on the relationship you have with certain people...everyone is different.

 

Q. How does an artist become a headliner for a show?

A. Fanbase, and audience connection, online promotions, grass roots...hand to hand fliers...get people to know your music so they will pack a venue.

 

Q. What is the name of your music lane, and who have you signed so far?

A. Beyond Stars Entertainment and Distribution, we are currently working with 20 different artists and as of yet we have not signed anyone...we are in the process of building the label...

 

Q. What is the difference between an underground artist,, and a signed artist?

A. Being signed means you have more outlets to promote your music or talent access to XXL, SOURCE magazines and satellite radio....you have a "big name" backing you up and a larger budget

 

Q. How do your Big Heff Industry tours you promote work exactly?

A. They are artist awareness tours...it gives the artist a chance to perform at lot's of different venues, concerts, mixers, and radio interviews.

 

Q. Why are artist expected to pay to perform at times?

A. Because you pay for exposure. If you have no fan base or even a small fan base your not able to fill a venue, your paying for an outlet to perform your music until you do build a fan base that is willing to pay for a ticket to actually see you perform. It helps build and develop you as an artist.

 

Q. Why is important for you to push so hard in this industry for  CLEVELAND?

A. This is my home, I believe we have some of the greatest talent in the world...

 

Q. Besides the obvious,,,who's got next to you?

A. BELLA NAE, CAINE, EZZY, KPT, SEVERE THE BOSS, DUSTY MCFLY, SILVER KARATS

 

Q. What do you meet with other record labels about?

A. New people that are hot, I develop relationships, project analysis, we swap info on any artists that may have a buzz around them, new ideas, marketing...

 

Q. Why do you feel some CLEVELAND artists feel they don't get the recognition they deserve at the Ohio Hip Hop Awards?

A. The OHHA awards has been going for about 7yrs, it's a breeding ground for musical talent....it's a chance to show the whole state who you are and what you have accomplished. I would feel upset too i I didn't win, or feel I was recognized...but at the end of the day...respect, handwork is what pays off and talent. It's a competition so of course people will feel some kinda way...

 

Q. Would you ever encourage other artists to come to CELEVLAND to do music?

Q. What is 1 of your most memorable moments in your CLEVELAND music career?
A. WOW!!!! I would mos def have to say...the BONE THUGS concert at the AGORA!!! That was monumental...I mean I pulled it off...every original member of Bone Thugs performed on stage together for their city!!!! It was AMAZING!!!!

QUINCY aka BIG HEFF has accomplished a lot for the city of CLEVELAND. When you see him out he never acts "stank", more than likely he's making sure that everyone around him in VIP has champagne bubbling all the way down their wrists. You might even catch him...tucked away behind a curtain on the side of a stage....watching all the artists, making sure their music is right, checkin crowd interaction, making sure everything is working out for everyone involved. QUINCY aka BIG HEFF is mos def the GODFATHER of using magic to transform concerts, artists, and even whole cities into something memorable. I mean I myself had wondered exactly what it is thatQUINCY does...but that question was answered when I attended the BONE THUGS N HARMONY concert at the AGORA.

There I found QUINCY, quietly running back and forth, thru the aisles, cross the stage, checking the line up, making sure every artist had what they needed, he even played MC, cued the music...man...as much asI wanted to find something bad to say, or maybe find some truth to those rumors from people that felt jilted for their short comings...I couldn't. All I saw...was a man..working hard, and quietly...to unite a whole city...and I witnessed 1 of the greatest hip hop groups ever...BONE THUGS reunited after more than a decade, on 1 stage, in CLEVELAND...performing...that alone deserves the utmost RESPECT. QUINCY aka BIG HEFF...has united CLEVELAND using music as the glue to hold us together. Most would say...his accomplishments mos def take some kinda magic...and BIG HEFF has it, he is the  musical GODFATHER, allow this man...to make your dreams come true!!!! XOXO

THE REBIRTH OF RAY JR. WELCOME TO LEGIT PAPER

I've often heard...that 1st impressions...are lastingimpressions...that's what they say. I don't agree with that tho.....I mean...I believe in second chances, and I believe...not in 1st impressions...but LASTING impressions. I'm from CLEVELAND...and it's true what you heard. "If you can make it in CLEVELAND, you can mos def make it anywhere." CLEVELANDis a city where music runs the state, where local artists are more famous than the actual Senators, and Representatives that run it. I mean it's kinda insane when most young people if asked "who is the mayor of East Cleveland?", would most likely respond "RAY JR is the MAYOR of E.C". *Hold up hold up wait a minute *Big Sean voice*, before all the old heads start jumping off the porch...it's not as if CLEVELAND rapper RAY JR., just went and self proclaimed himself the "MAYOR". This is a situation where a local artist is most deserving of the actual title. RAY JR. himself has dug deep into his pockets, and rehabilitated areas of EAST CLEVELAND that once seemed doomed, areas that kids had been prohibited to run free and play. RAY JR. himself has gone above and beyond the duty of "local rapper", and citizen. Yet talking to RAY JR. you would never know, or hear him boast or brag about his reconstructive accomplishments. He's just not that type of guy. RAY JR. is somewhat of a "superhero"...yeah...almost Clark Kent like. An intelligent, creative rapper is his cover, and underneath he is a regular human being, loves his city, loves his crew, loves his music, would sacrifice his life for his family, and loyal to his clique LEGIT PAPER. Sometimes when people become "superhuman" tho....people forget that when you take away the "super", what you have left is a "human". People begin to depend on Superhero's, and pretty soon, it's not just "people", but eventually...a whole city. "If you can make it in CLEVELAND, you can make it anywhere"...getting a record deal from a major label...coming outta CLEVELAND is almost as rare as the CLEVELAND BROWN's winning *sad face*tears, so when it does happen for an artist  like RAY JR. the whole city feels strong. Hella artists suddenly feel confidence in themselves that they never felt before. Only because they look at someone like RAY JR., a guy from EAST CLEVELAND, some would consider the "slums" of CLEVELAND, been rapping, doing shows, rocking Peabody's, AGORA, Club Earth, andbasically all of the hot CLEVELAND venues for years....and suddenly...RAY JR. get's signed to a major record label, and LEGIT PAPER is finally LEGIT, and it's like for a moment it seems as tho...music out of all things...has saved the city. When people see a guy like RAY JR. make it, it kinda gives hope to other artists, and many times artists forget how long it took, and how hard RAY JR. had to grind to make it happen for himself. You gotta remember,LEGIT PAPER has been pumping out the hottest music videos, mostly if not all shot in CLEVELAND before any major label ever invested in them, you gotta remember that RAY JR. has always been bout his music. 

I mean when "Sloppy"dropped, GOOD LAWD... The whole city of CLEVELAND was body rocking!!!! Not just even the city, but the whole damn country. It had been fo-EVA since I had heard an CLEVELAND ARTIST get that much radio play. I mean for heavens sake, MGK himself hardly gets radio play in his own City, neither does CUDI, and Chip Tha Ripper...oopsy..I mean "KING CHIP"doesn't even get spins. So RAY JR., ruling the airwaves was like a total CLEVELAND MUSICAL TAKEOVER. The whole city was screaming "LEGIT PAPER in da houseeeeeeeeeeeee". You couldn't go anywhere without hearing "Sloppy", and I have been caught singing "Don't come in me dont come in meeeeeeeeee" *hehehe or seeing RAY JR. at the gas station, or club, or local high school games, or speaking at churches, solidifying music panels and even talking politics with the leaders of our city.

Most times when an artist gets signed, or moves away to another city and blows up....they may act "different", ya know...all "uppity"forgetting where they came from, no longer connecting with the fans that supported them all the time they were grinding. Most artists that blow up...let that "YEAH I MADE IT EGO" get to em....they start not caring....not giving a f*ck. I wouldn't ever say that RAY JR.  did any of those things....but I will say....that a few months ago....I saw RAY JR., and he was performing...and it wasn't the RAY JR. that had me body rockin. This RAY JR., seemed to kinda go with the motions, go with the flo....I was thinking..."damn...if I had to perform Sloppy, a million hundred friggin times, I might get bored too", but even still something seemed distant with RAY JR. In your typical people, sipping "Lic Lac", talking sh*t on a porch convo, RAY JR.who was usually the topic of discussion, was labeled... distant, not the same. I mean hell we all have bad days....but for music to be his passion, he just didn't seem that passionate. I mean most people would kill to be in his shoes...some literally...but then again...sometimes things aren't always as they seem.

So when I was blessed with an interview with RAY JR. I was super pumped!!!

After this interview I was somewhat blank. I mean I had hoped RAY JR. would give me something to give the people that were skeptical...about his continued success.But RAY JR., still seemed closed off, "LIC LAC"had just dropped, and it's a hot song!!! Yet RAY JR. seemed more private than ever. I'm a pretty good judge of character, and like I said before...some people say "1st impressions are lasting impressions", but I don't agree. I knew there was more to RAY JR. than just his larger than life "SUPERHERO" save the music, make it in CLEVELAND image. I decided to let RAY JR.cook a lil.  I'm not 1 of those people that likes to gossip, I hear stuff all the time, but I don't engage cuz let people tell it...I'm a million things that I'm really not .The music industry is 1 of the messiest, most bittersweet, love ya then they hate ya, ship jumping industries ever. There ismore gossip in the music industry than a girls locker room in a strip club *we love you strippers. Who really knows what happened to RAY JR., all I know is it's not 1st impressions, it'sLASTING IMPRESSIONS that count.

Fast Forward like a VHS tape to the OHIO HIP HOP AWARDS!!! All of CLEVELAND was in the building...RAY JR. was set to perform at the awards....I was thinking to myself..."I wonder he's gonna do"* blank face*. I had my pinky toes crossed hoping it wouldn't be like last time I saw him perform. It was hard for me to honestly say anything bad about his performance...but then again he had the whole LEGIT PAPER and family on stage with him, sooooooo just the crowd on stage alone was enough to get my adrenaline pumping.That's what RAY JR. had been doing a lot of lately, going on stage with the whole LEGIT PAPER standing solid right behind him. I mean RAY JR.'smusic is so popular, half the time he can set the mic down on the stage and the crowd will recite very lyric to every song for him. Yet I wanted to see RAY JR.perform,... It seemed as tho RAY JR. had a lil more pep in his step. He seemed a lil different from the last couple of performances. Maybe he was showing out for the awards. Maybe he was excitedto be in COLUMBUS....I didn't know. I just knew his Ohio Hip Hop Award performance had a lil more life in it...like his stage performance had chugged hella gatorade. I chalked up RAY JR'sB+ performance to winning at the OHHA, being on a huge stage with a ton of his dearest friends, and loyal fans standing with him. I mean RAY JR. is a solid performer when he gives his all.His stature and confidence on the mic is like no other. He is witty, and deep, and solid. RAY JR. can mos def demolish  any track, and he has a way of connecting with his fans, that consists of hustlers, working class, students, kids, old folk, strippers, baby mamas...white folks, black folks and anything in between. That's how connected RAY JR. is with an audience, without ever seeming "commercial, or artificial". RAY JR. is a major labels most sought out kinda artist. I mean most labels would kill for an artist like him, that's able to sell records to any kind of demographic, and RAY JR. saves cities, rebirths hope in the youth, and makes the old folk respect his generation...and that alone is "SUPERHERO" like. So it was almost refreshing to see RAY JR. kinda rep the way he did at the OHHA. But just as quickly as I watched him perform...I had packed up my camera, and was back in my hotel room changing clothes for the OHHA after party at REPUBLIC. I had heard RAY JR. was suppose to perform at the REPUBLIC,but I was already forecasting the future like "I already know what he is gonna do".

When we pulled up and jumped out at REPUBLICit was awkwardly quiet. It was a small place, and stepping inside it was very intimate. I mean the stage was literally the size of a soapbox. Just guessing there was probably about 100 people in the audience, off to the side was the legendary Steve Lobel who had managed to slip in . Steve Lobel was lounging across a couch, 1 leg extended on th couch..it seemed as if he was blocking off territory so that he could have his own personal space. There was champagne flowing around him, and a few pretty ladies placed almost like decoration. He seemed totally bored like "I've done this VIP thing a trillion times". Steve Lobel didn't budge, he never smiled, or got up. Ray JR. finally came out, like he kinda walked thru the crowd and picked up the mic. It was total silence , and it seemed like RAY JR. kinda had a moment....like Prince right before he performed "PURPLE RAIN". DJ RYAN WOLF was just about to start spinning, when RAY JR. said "yooooooo play my own sh*t". Then just like that...LEGIT PAPER seemed like the old LEGIT PAPER!!! RAY JR. came alive!!! He demanded that everyone in the club get up outta their seats. I mean he was that cocky, assertive, demanding guy I had missed! There were a few girls sitting in the back of the club...RAY JR. cued the music to stop and put em on the spot....if you know RAY JR. then you know he is good for blowing someone up that is trying to act to "cool". He said "now I know ya'll aint waste yo money on an outfit jus tah sit down...GET UP GET UP, we bout to ROCK dis show!!!" At first the girls were still tryna play cute...but eventually the beautiful Mz. Crazy Tee and the rest of TRINITY GOLD walked up to the people that were sitting down and took their hands and walked em to the dance floor. The music was cued back up, and the party started!!! RAY JR. seemed strong again, he seemed confident, there wasn't a million dudes rapping for him, he was basically solo dolo. He was spitting acapella, he was 
freestyling, he was in the crowd, he seemed genuinely happy again, but most of all...he was PASSIONATE again!!!. RAY JR. had the whole crowd rocking. The setting seemed perfect for him. Not to big and not to small. A perfect intimate place for the rebirth of RAY JR., the rebirth of LEGIT PAPER. Not even half way thru and STEVE LOBEL himself had finally rose from outta of the roped off section, and he was standing front and center, head nodding to RAY JR.!!! He did a set that seemed to last forever, and yet me along with everyone else was left still wanting more. People in the crowd were like "keep going, keep going"!!!!

I don't know what happened to RAY JR., during those months when he was distant... I'm not really sure I care, cuz we all get lost in life's decisions sometimes...but I am happy for RAY JR. and LEGIT PAPER. It's nothing cooler to watch than a person do something that they are talented at, to watch someone fulfill their passion is a beautiful thing. Once a "SUPERHERO", always a "SUPERHERO"...sometimes people don't realize that it's not the clothes, the cape, the money, the fame...or hell even the record label that makes a person. LEGIT PAPER was LEGIT PAPER before signing a deal, LEGIT PAPER was changing CLEVELAND before a lot of things. RAY JR. has been the"Mayor of E.C". He's not one of those people that has  changed and we no longer recognize him, his music get's better, his videos represent his city like no others... and maybe certain things happen for a reason because he refuses to change. We as "fans" will attach ourselves to someone who is making a dream come true. A real fan will realize that just because some things don't turn out the way "WE" want them to, doesn't mean that's what the artist wants. "SUPEHERO's" are here to save us from the everyday realities...but they should be able to to do what they feel is BEST for them. LOYAL FANS ride or die for something they love, and RAY JR. has all of CLEVELAND behind him, supporting him no matter what he decides to do.RAY JR. has done more on his platform than many have in their career,  CLEVELAND is his city, LEGIT PAPER is his clique, his music, his love. Many things come and go, ...but LEGIT PAPER is in the HOOOOUUSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!XOXO

DJ RYAN WOLF GET'S IT SH8K-IN!!!!!

What exactly is the definition...of...SEXY? I mean "Sexy" can be interpreted as so many things. Some people may think a fat as* or big tits is "sexy". Some people may think that hot sweaty as* shaking is sexy. Yet some people think that strippers are "sexy", while some people may beg to differ and believe that your "regular" everyday girl is "sexy". Point being...there are to many ways to categorize"sexy". If we took the time to pull apart the definition of "sexy", it may take forever. The debate of what is "sexy" and what is not can go on for days. We can compare music videos, movies, models, or magazine eye candy...but what exactly is SEXY? Well...DJ RYAN WOLF, the official Dj for Ray Jr. and LEGIT PAPER has dug deep, and found the answer to an age old question "What is Sexy?". DJ RYAN WOLF has taken his time, and actually studied the art and beauty of phenomenal "sexy" women. Yeah yeah yeah...now we all know dj's have a bad wrap...for pushing game on the ladies, and even times b n "quirky". Yet DJ RYAN WOLF is non of that. Just from hisinfamous SH8K videos, you can tell that DJ RYAN WOLF has an appreciation for beautiful, and talented women. It's almost as if he climbed a mountain top, and sat there for days on end...staring at the clouds, maybe even praying to the SH8K God's, asking for the answer to the question "what is sexy?". Once DJ RYAN WOLF was anointed with the answer, he climbed back down from the mountain top and blessed us all with his artistic SH8K videos. (*clouds part in the sky, and rays of sun beam down...ahhhhhhhh)

Usually when men and women debate on what is sexy, they can never unite on one answer.Most of the time, insecure women automatically frown up their faces when they see a beautiful girl... dancing, twerking, and having full control over a mans attention. Some women are so insecure that they can't focus on the beauty of another women's body, or artistic movement of her body. Sometimes men...are so sex driven...that they too sometimes are unable to appreciate how beautiful a woman really is. All they see is vulgar hard as* shaking, and their fantasy quickly turns into animalistic sex...instead of sweet sensual fantasies. DJ RYAN WOLF has created a bond between men, women, strippers, working women, and musical artists with his SH8K videos. Once you look at the videos you will understand...that there is mos def beauty in twerking. Not your average "twerk team twerk", but in a classy, mind blowing experience twerk. Watching SH8K videos is like one big mind fu*k. Q. How did you come up with the SH8K video concept?

A. No Lie......I was working out at Planet Fitness, and while working out I was thinking about the TWERK TEAM, and then I thought about Ray Jr's music...and I thought..."damn...it'd be dope if I shot a twerk video to Legit Paper music"

Q. How is this different than your regular youtube "Twerk Team'?

A. Well first off.....usually the twerk team will just be shot at 1 angle, no camera movement, girls just going hard for 5 mins straight. I wanted to focus more on the beauty of a women, dancing in a sexy sensual kinda way, a way to make you fantasize, a nice gentle twerk lol.

Q. What is it that you are trying to deliver through the SH8K videos?

A. Eye Candy for the men, and a confidence builder for women out here. I try and have beautiful women, not shaking hard and being raunchy...I tried to show that a women can be confident, sexy and classy.

Q.How does the music play a part in the SH8K videos?

A. I mean as of now I use Ray Jr's music, music that  maybe everyone isn't hip to. I'm Legit Paper all day...but eventually I would like to use other artists and other popular music as well. 

Q. Have you received a lot of requests for SH8K videos?

A. Hell yeah! The feedback and responses have been insane! It's a cool way to showcase women, and get your music heard. The females featured are being booked for photoshoots etc, like getting hella attention!

Q.Who are the women featured in the SH8K videos?

A. I dunno...girls I already knew, some are strippers, some go to college..it's all different kinda girls.

Q.Who produced the Sh8K videos?

A. Mannnnn  MoleyFilms did the first video, and now Purple Films... *S/o to Brett, he has been pumping out the SH8K videos for me...I mean I am more than satisfied with the quality. It's exactly if not more than what I had envisioned for my brand.

Okkkkkk sooooooo like.....I  FU*KSwith OWEY!!!! If I could I post his music all damn day....er-day I would. I meanOWEY literally makes hit after hit... it's almost impossible for me to keep up with his production output. This video "POP THAT"... reminds me of Tupac's video "I Get Around", but like a bigger booty, these are the times, OWEY version!!! It's been a long time since we've seen a video shot in a pool party setting!!!(*a gritty, authentic pool party) I love this video cuz it's oozing outrageous fun!!! I love the wayOWEY keeps all his videos trill. You see fine as* girls with stoopid bodies, and then you see your basic girls, maybe not as "hot", but they seem like real down a*s girls.. but still all in all everyone is having a dope as* time!!!! I also love the way that the girls in the video are actually getting wet!!!! I hate when I see a "pool video" and all the girls act to "pretty" to get soaked. B-LO DELIVERS SEX and AGGRESSION!!!

Soooooooooo many things...are ah changing...fashion, television...hell pretty soon "regular" movies will be a thing of a the past. Most movies are 3D now. Even food has taken on a whole different taste...bacon sundaes *courtesy of Burger King (*mouth vomit). Don't get me wrong...I'm all for change...thank you Mr. Steve Jobs, and my secret besties *Twitter, and Facebook. Yet I've always been the type of person, that loves all things CLASSIC. It's strange to say...but the old CLASSIC is now the NEW CLASSIC, and this mos def includes music. With technology so accessible these days...it seems as if anyone with a laptop and "crew" can put out mixtapes, and call themselves "hot artists". I guess for awhile...I was accepting today's generation of music...just as it is. It wouldn't be until I listened to some old school NAS, or even Mobb Deep, Biggie, or even Jay-Z...that I would tell myself "now Jenn, this is real hip-hop". (*My own opinion ok ppl*headroll fingasnap). I had begun to think, that this generation, will never know CLASSIC hip-hop... you know...fresh, clean beats, deep intelligent lyrics, meaningful , and Classic story telling at it's finest...until...I heard B-LO.

When I first heard of  B-LO...I was at a studio session...that was just getting started. You know one of those moments where your almost "turned up", but your cup is half empty...yeah that feeling. I just kept hearing "Yooo B-lo should be coming thru soon", and "I swear dis ni*ga B-Lo takes all damn day". From the sound of things, I could only assume that this B-LO character...did things on his own time. I also assumed that B-LO, whoever he was usually turned up whenever he decided to show his face. After what seemed an eternity I finally heard a  phrase that seemed to bring the whole studio session to life....sitting in the W.41side studio (where they crank out nutting but hits)...someone loudly exhaled "yoooo B-LO is at the door!". Suddenly people rose from the couch, like in a zombie movie...loud thumps came down the stairs and there standing before me was B-LO. Nothing at all like what I had expected.

B-LO...is huge! He is tall, and solid looking...almost like a college football player. I automatically decided in my mind, that B-LO must have access to his own personal barber, that is at his beckon call 24-7. Only cuz dude looked strangely like a million bucks. He looked like someone DIDDY himself would associate with. Veryneat, clean, fashionable, and cocky. After looking him up and down my eyes fixated on something unimaginable. B-LO...was wearing a friggin Bow tie. Yes a bow tie!!!Usually I would twist my face up and think...*awww lawdy...not another wannabe fashion icon *yawn. Yet B-LO had managed to pull off this daring fashion statement in such a classy, effortless way...it made me wish more guys would wear a bow tie.*Hell...I even ran my fingers across my neck, to picture how I would pull off a bow tie. The studio session came alive with the arrival of some of the finest herbal refreshments ever served. B-LO took friendly shots at Ez White, and Ez Whitetossed em back, all in good fun. AHPTIMUS PRIME sat in his chair and sorted thru hooks and beats, while B-LO gave a "yes or no"to them. One thing that attracted me to B-LO was his thick skin. If there was a line that didn't mesh with the format of the song he was working on, and the crew served their input, B-LO wouldn't become defensive. He would stand up straight, run his hand over his crisp cut and say something like "yeah...maybe", or "naw...I like it the way it is". Even tho B-LO was only passing thru for a moment, within minutes his cocky attitude had made me build up a wall. He seemed to be "bossy", or "impatient". His wise cracks seemed endless, and he looked at me as if he could have any woman he desired. But I didn't have time to completely disect him, because as soon as he landed, he departed.
 

I've heard B-LO on a couple of songs before. I always say this....it's difficult at times to judge an artist off their music, just from collabs with other artists. It's like trying to decide which is better. The cookie part of an oreo...or the middle of it. So when I heard B-LO was dropping his album, I wasn't to thrilled. First off, the guy was so cocky, wearing that bow tie like he was president, and taking over convos, and basically being like...LISTEN TO MY ALBUM. He had some nerve! It wasn't until I had 1 of those late nights where I was laying around sorting thru music...that I came across...what can only be described ...as a..wonderful masterpiece. SEX and AGGRESSION, from B-LO proves why he the most popular villain.

SEX and AGGRESSION is the perfect title for B-LO's album. Most artists name an album and it has nothing to do with the story of the music. SEX and AGGRESSION, mos def sums up what it is that B-LO is sharing with us. B-LO comes thru his album aggressively challenging all haters, non believers, and demolishes all of his competition. He somehow manages to pull all the women towards him with his sexual references, and delicious fantasies. Nowhere does the music seem raunchy. It's all in a urban, deep, romantic wonderful way. Leaving me speechless and realizing that the look he gave me wasn't of "I can have you", it was a look of confidence...like" yo, keep staring, your looking at the best". Even a guy would listen to "Ceilings" and possibly decide to take notes. The "ARCH VILLIAN" with APHTIMUS PRIME ,DJ MAJETTE and produced by PHEENS is so far off the map...it would mos def take some of the worlds best artists years in a studio...to even be able to go against it. Just when B-LO comes off as being Aggressive, and at times maybe  make a woman question his intentions, his sexy words, or poetic thoughts quickly bring her back round and before she's knows it....she's fantasizing about SEX and AGGRESSION. B-LO seems to be able to back up everything he says on his album. SEX and AGGRESSION is how an album story should be told. With the W.41side  and PHEENS himself producing untouchable beats , and executing 1 of the fattest albums of the year for B-LO, SEX and AGGRESSION is mos def a CLASSIC, and a WINNER! If that isn't enough the albums artwork alone is magnificent, created by AHPTIMUS PRIME himself!!! "DECOMPRESSED" featuring FRANC WEST is another banger!!!! With Franc West singing "How can I be mad, good as I'm feeling"andB-LO spitting decompressed is friggin awesome!!! I've never rated an album before, because of all the "politics"behind criteria etc, but I am so confident in SEX and AGGRESSION that I will mos def give it  4 out of 5 stars!!! I have to save a star, for all the other sensitive as* rappers that may feel jilted. (Ha!)

Let's face it...hot female rappers....are about as extinct asprehistoric dinosaurs, swatch watches, the Cosby Show, Rap City on BET, and music videos on MTV. I don't know how many conversations I've had with groups of people...ya know...sitting around, talking smack, debating on the greatest mc's of all time. I mean those kinda convos get heated! You start off sitting on a porch...chillin, and before you know it...you're standing up, spitting when you talk (*I really hate that sh*t) ,trying your best to prove why your "chosen mc " is the best. Yet as soon as it comes down to the question of "who's the hottest FEMALE mc"...no...not "who USED to be the hottest FEMALE mc"...the question "who is the hottest FEMALE mc out RIGHT NOW?" Suddenly...everyone will seem to get quiet. You may take another sip of your drank...maybe even sit in silence as you puff a drag off some "herbal refreshment". The group of people  that had so quickly been divided by a heated debate...where names had been dropped right and left about the best mc....are suddenlyunited...with the awkward silence of trying to figure out exactly who is the hottest FEMALE MC out right now?. After moments of silence ...as if you can almost predict the future...someone will say ..."hell ...NICKI MINAJ...she's hot...and her ass is fat." The group slowly begins to mend itself...not exactly satisfied with the answer...yet tired of thinking...and forcefullyaccepts the nomination for hottest FEMALE MC out now.

I myself am not satisfied...don't get me wrong...I LOVE Nicki Minaj (boom ba boom boom... boom ba boom boom..base... base *headroll finga snap). Could it be that she is always considered the hottest female mc...because she really hasn't had anyone to compete against her?Fast Forward a lil.....soooo I'm pushing a rental...and its been blessed with XM radio and the "Sway in the morning" show. I hear a song...that's unfamiliar in the heavily looped rotation. It only took a matter of seconds...before I realized I was bobbing my head and quickly hooked on to the catchy hook "VOUCH FOR THAT". The female mc was going hard! Just from her lyrics and her delivery I could feel her finger pointing in my face, I could see her headrolls, hand on her hip and fingersnaps. This girl was on fire!!! So of course I looked to see who it was...and it read SADIE HAWKINS!!!!!! SADIE HAWKINS...I had heard of "Sadie Hawkins" before...I'm pretty sure we have all had the "sadie hawkins" dance at school, you know where the girl picks the guy to dance with. I was almost positive this SADIE HAWKINS spitting in my ear, was not the "sadie hawkins" from school.

When I was finally able to quench my thirst for a visual of SADIE HAWKINS via YOUTUBE...I wasIMPRESSED and SURPRISED!!! SADIE HAWKINS ia a bad ass b*tch!!!! I mean DAMMMNNNNN...SADIE HAWKINS is ILL...like dropped from another planet ill!!!! Her whole style is soooo outta the box that it mos def makes you do a double take! She spits like she's a large woman, like big...like Lady of Rage, Or Remy Ma...but she is slim...and BEAUTIFUL!SADIE HAWKINS body is sick!!! None of that artificial booty and tits...she's perfectly portioned ...cute body, pretty face...but spits like a monster...like a caged beast!!! It was a must that I score an interview with SADIE HAWKINS!!! I'm not 1 to beg (unless its j's or something else of importance) but I literally begged Quincy aka Big Heff for an interview, and just like that...he granted my wish!!!

A. OH MUH GOODNESS!!!!It's insane really!!!! Well not really cuz I always knew I was gonna make it...but I was in a studio session with Don Dada...he writes major hooks for artists. He needed a female to say like 4 words on a track. I was nervous as hell...I had never recorded anything before...but he kinda shoved me in the booth...and I said "I vouch for that". After I said it he was like "yoooo we need a whole song with you on it".....that was like November 2010. Ever since then I've been rapping.

Q.Okkk...sooo wait a sec!!!! You just recently started rapping...it hasn't been a full 2 years yet?
A. Nope! I just started....I was in the military for a couple of years.

Q. Did you ever rap in the military?
A. Gurrlll no way!!! The military is very "plain" in everything. I never rapped. I was shy and quiet kinda ...

Q. So how did you get the name Sadie Hawkins?
A. It was really random actually. I mean I've been modeling here and there in ATL. One day this guy came in and was looking at some flicks I did for a photoshoot. He said he liked my style, and asked me if I was a rapper. He said I looked like a rapper kinda. I said no...because at the time I wasn't. He told me I reminded him of "Sadie Hawkins". I had no idea who she was til I looked her up and saw her old comic strips and stuff. She was in control...Sadie Hawkins was..and her style was on point. So ever since then I said ok ok...I'm Sadie Hawkins.

Q.Have you always been so extreme in your style!!!! You seem to think way outside the box...but in a fun , dope, retro-futuristic kinda way?
A.Thank you sooooo much!!!!  Yeah I've always been into bright colors!!! I love colors and being in the military I never had a chance to express myself thru my hair and clothing, but now ooohhh gurlllll I love changing my hair. I've had it all kinda of colors, styles...short on 1 side, long, ponytails...you name I've done it. I love expressing myself thru fashion. I've always been into fashion, modeling and all that!

Q.How have you managed to bust thru the gaps of the industry when it takes most people sometimes years to make that 1 good connect?
A. Well before I was rapping I knew I wanted to be part of the entertainment industry. I've always been into music and the whole entertainment scene. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I was running website magazine and dvd...Shine Magazine. It covered music, fashion and all industry type info. So thru that alone I had built up connects and networked with tons of people!

Q.How long were you in the Military?
A. I was actually in the Airforce for 3 years. I worked in medical, cardiology.

Q.Where exactly are you from?
A.Colombia, South Carolina!!!

Q. Your videos are Dope as fuggggggggg! Do you think of your own video treatments?
A. YES!!!! I'm a visionary! I see treatments inside of my head and I try to make my videos look exactly how I see them inside of my head! It's important for me. I can be a lil picky bout my videos...but hey..I'm an artist

Q.So the video Microphone Check...was your idea?
A. OMG!!! Yes...I love classic hip-hop. Like I wanted to pay homage to the rappers that were before me and other artists we have today.

Q. Was that video expensive to shoot, it looked very high in quality and the fashion was insane?
A. I worked with my budget...it's amazing how you can make your money stretch when you don't have a lot to work with. I can't wait til I have a bigger budget, but I love my videos..we work with what we have.

Q.Your still young, yet your music is a beautiful blend of old hip-hop and new hip-hop. What are some of your favorite rappers?
A. I dunno...I've always been into ol school hip-hop. Slick Rick, Mona Lisa...I love them..they paved the way.I love Nas and Drake too tho...I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!

Q. How is your new fame treating you, I mean when you to back to Colombia South Carolina do you get shown mad love, or are people baffled by how fast you blew up?
A.HAHAHAHAH Gurrrllllll I mean my hometown is always gonna show me love. I love my city, and yes sometimes it's kinda weird cuz girls...girls will be girls...and they try and act funny sometimes, but it's cool...mostly tho people are happy for me and support me. I mean of course people are gonna say things like "aint that such in such baby mama", or people swear they "know" me....but it's all good...I appreciate the support. Sometimes where you are from...is where people will hate on you the most. ATL shows me mad love tho...it's like my second home.

Q.I noticed you have some artwork on your body, do you regret any of your tattoos?
A. When I was in the military I wasn't really able to get any tats, but soon as I got out I went crazy lol...I've got my baby daddy name on me...I kinda regret it..but I won't have it removed...cuz he is a part of life ...I mean we created our daughter...so it ain't like I'ma ever forget him.....(*I feel that...I'm guilty as well)

Q. Is it hard being a parent and chasing your dream...at the SAME DAMN TIME?
A. Hell Yeah..I mean my daughter is my life..she is my world. She understands that I'm tryna make a better life for her. I came from the projects, and I refuse to be a product of my environment ...I'm showing her that you can chase and accomplish your dreams. One day I'ma be able to have her be with me and have the best tutors money can buy!

Q.Your from down south so I have to ask....Bojangles, or POPEYES?
A. Gurlllllll now you already know...POPEYES!!! I used to work at Bojangles...sooo I'ma roll with Popeyes. Those damn Chicken wraps, and red beans with rice...yeah that goes hard!!!

Q.What female mc's do you admire, or would love to collab with?
A.WHOA!!!! I adore Rhianna, of course Nicki Minaj I love her too, and EVE. I admire EVE the most. We are kinda similar ...she's like a pit bull in a dress, holding her own...People say I'm like that as well. Eve is dope cuz she was sexy but she could hold her own amongst hella dudes. Eve used to have the dopest lyrics!

Q. Do you ever feel pressured to have plastic surgery, to have a bigger bott or boobs?
A. NAW..well I mean sometimes people may suggest things like that...but I'm good with what I have..."no titties, no ass shots...I like what I got"

Q.Your independent right now, if you were going to be signed...what labels are attractive to you?
A. I would love to get signed...but I'm embracing being independent right now. I'm just getting out here and I love being independent because it gives me more negotiating power. But I love Maybach Music, and Kanyes G.O.O.D music...yeah I think I'd b a nice fit for them....it's no other like me.

Q. What are you looking forward to, events and shows coming up?
A. Mannnnn I can't wait to get out to SXSW next year. I'm real excited about that. I've got hella shows coming up. I've got a mixtape coming out called "Her-Story"...like "history"..but"Her-Story"...it gonna feature all old school hip hop beats...some new too, but mosty like retro....it's gonna be dope...ya'll gonna flip when you hear it!!

THE REAL KPT!!!

There are many things that I have never seen in my life. Fairies, unicorns, aliens, a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, 2 headed babies, a female pimp....and a dope male Indian rapper! Just because I myself had never seen these things or people before... doesn't mean that they do not exist. I'm the type of person that holds out hope...because I believe that anything and everything is possible, and with my small glimmer of hope of finding the unimaginable...Quincy aka Big Heff delivered me, you, and soon the rest of the world KPT!!!! I mos def trust Big Heff's choice in music selection and the artists he represents...but honestly when he informed me that he had 1 of the hottest new rappers on his team....and that the guy was Indian...yes Indian...I felt my face look like "uuhhh yeah ok...coming outta Cleveland...*crickets". I've made many mistakes in my life...and 1 of them was mos def developing a stereotype about someone before I had a chance to hear them, vibe to them, or even appreciate them. (*Drops to knees and begins to pray..."Dear Lord, plz forgive me sleeping on KPT, plz forgive me for questing Big Heff's sanity, and plz forgive me for being such a goof ball...AMEN)

When I first met KPT, I know he had to be thinking..."yoooo wtf is this girl staring at", I mean after all I was looking him up and down...just trying to figure the guy out. I caught a show that he and is partner/friend Draft Pick were doing at Peabodys. I had never in my life before seen a real Indian rapper perform live . Peabodys was it's usual self...Peabodys...of course there were a zillion acts first...but then KPTand Draft Pick came out on stage. KPTcommanded the audience soon as he touched the stage. I'm still not sure if it was from the shock of an Indian guy, or the fact that he had on the dopest sneakers, and freshest fit ever...by the end of the performance I realized it was because...the dude has a sick a*s FLO!!! Anyone who has been to Peabodys know's that eventually before the set is over...the stage is filled with about 100 people all grabbing for a mic, all trying to "steal the show". Ez White was there of course, he performed with KPT and Draft Pick and mos def shut the show down with Big Heff'sTURN UP!!! All the while I was fixated on KPT. Wondering... is this lil guy gonna be able to hold his own with Draft Pick..who is huge, and Ez White who is seasoned and mos def an "entertainer"...it was hot as hell...and eventually Draft Pick and Ez White had removed their shirts, and remained covered in sweat. Draft Pick bearing his tats all across his body, Ez was humping speakers and being his usual self...but even thru all of the "entertainment" KPT was there...the smallest one...with the most crowd connection. KPT grabbed the mic, stood on the stage and rocked it the f*ck out!!!! He didn't need to do anything extra. Once you listened in to his lyrics you were stuck, amazed, and immediately a fan.  I waited for him to remove his shirt, wondering if he was going flash tats...but he never did...he almost seemed "to cool" for all of that. KPT has a kinda of wild swag, yet I can only assume that he does what his body feels when in the moment. Don't get me wrong!!! KPT is a RAGER to the fullest, but that day he seemed cool, and laid back.

Ever since that performance I've been curious, and inquisitive about KPT. Even at the after party at Earth (SUPER TURNED UP) I watched KPT...he was cool...we drank, turned up the VIP, and of course hella females surrounded him. So eventually I myself had to sit down ...and see..Who is KPT? Believe me...after the interview...I realized KPT is  wild ,crazy, insane, witty, humble, and ready for anything!!!!

Q. How did you get the name KPT?
A.KPT is for "KURUPT" , cuz everyone in my family thinks I'm an asshole. I was always getting in trouble growing up, I'm always fucking shit up...but KPT..that's a cool way to say fuck up.

A. Lakewood...Lakewood Ohio

A. I'm all over...but yeah..I rep Brecksville and Strongsville...yeah...

A. HELL NO!!! Everything I spit is real. Just cuz I'm Indian doesn't mean shit.I'm still a man. I've lived life, I've got my own...everything I talk about is real...I can back up my music....some people can't.

A. Sometimes I get so wasted I don't remember some shows...but I mos def remember opening up for Bone Thugs N Harmony at Newport Music Hall!!! That performance was dope!

A. I was very energetic! I had a lot of rage, and emotions built up inside and rapping..making music helped me release all that was inside of me....music has been my therapy.

Q. If you didn't listen to rap..hip-hop what would you listen to?
A. Man....I literally listen to all kinds of music! I listen to a lot of Indian music, like old Indian music from the 40's and 50's. I like country too cuz it get's deep. Believe it or not...I'm a big fan of Gospel music. I LOVE gospel music. It has crazy energy!! I mean the people feel it, and the gospel artists voices are rich and deep, so are gospel beats.I'ma infuse some of it into my music!

Q.When you make you first million what's the first thing you would buy?

A. I would...pay off all my dad's hospital debts. He has cancer and the medical bills are insane. I would take care of all his medical debt.

Q.Do you fell pressured to succeed...because you are the "minority" in the music industry?
A. Actually...no...not at all. I mean everyone has their own shot. I'ma go harder tho because I don't wanna miss my shot.

Q.Do you feel like you and Draft Pick...are being marketed sometimes as a "group"?
A. Naw ...Draft Pick is my friend. We support each other, at the end of the day that's my friend...I enjoy rocking out with him...he's good people.

Q.How did you feel about your first Ohio Hip Hop Award Nomination?
A.Wow!!! I mean...I knew I had worked hard, I knew I had been out here grinding, but...to actually see myself on the nominee ballot...whew..I felt like all the hardwork I have been putting in...was finally being appreciated and recognized. I felt extremely humbled.
